PETOSKEY

Petoskey stones are a type of Fossilized Coral from a time when what we know as Michigan was covered by a shallow sea and are found in the area around Petoskey, Michigan. It is a unique stone with hexagon designs and was adopted as the official state stone of Michigan in 1965. These stones are often found on local beaches and gravel pits and are popular among rock hounds for their distinctive appearance.
